I've had a lot of people ask about the settlement with the National Association of REALTORS® and how it will affect the sale of your home. This was the best response I have seen:
The NAR agreement calls for more transparency in who is being compensate for the sale of your home. Fortunately, in California, we have already been doing this. It is made clear on our listing agreement how much compensation is offered to each party. This amount has always been negotiable and should be a point of discussion.
Buyers will be required to sign an agency agreement with the agent of their choice. This again, allows for transparency in regard to compensation for the buyer and their agent.
