Meet Vaani Gandhi, Our Featured Patient Of The Week...
Vaani was only nine years old when she first came to our office. Having started wearing glasses at the age five, her prescription had already progressed to a high level of myopia and astigmatism.
After a series of lenses, we were finally able to upgrade Vaani to a 5th generation Hi-Definition Soft Contact Lenses that she currently wears today.
With these new lenses, Vaani has total all day and night comfort with crystal clear 20/15 vision... something she will definitely be needing, as we got the good news that Vaani will be starting law school in the fall!
We're all so very proud of Vaani, as we have watched her grow up before our very eyes into a very beautiful young lady with so many gifts and talents.
Thank you Vaani, for the many years you have blessed us as both a wonderful patient and friend. Here at the Lyon Contact Lens Center, we could never do what we do without your love and support!

More Than Half A Century Later, We're Here For You And Your Families:
A Trip Down Memory Lane...
1975: We opened the doors to our first office near Disneyland with a single exam room, specializing in the design and development of first-generation (PMMA) contact lenses.
1978: We introduced Gas Permeable (GP) contact lenses, providing a more comfortable solution for patients with sensitive eyes.
1979: We began fitting the first generation of soft contact lenses that no longer required boiling for disinfection, making lens care simpler and more convenient.
1981: Following FDA approval, we began fitting soft contact lenses for overnight wear, expanding options for qualifying patients.
1982: We opened our second office near Anaheim Stadium, expanding to three exam rooms and a full-service contact lens laboratory to better serve our growing patient base, including emergency contact lens patients.
1986: Overnight Gas Permeable contact lenses became available, offering another innovative vision correction option.
1987: We introduced disposable soft contact lenses, bringing greater convenience and healthier lens replacement schedules to our patients.
1992: We began fitting the latest soft toric (astigmatism) contact lenses, helping patients with astigmatism achieve clearer, more comfortable vision.
1997: We opened our third office in the KWAVE Building near South Coast Plaza, expanding to five exam rooms and a state-of-the-art, multidimensional on-site contact lens laboratory.
2002: We introduced Piggyback Contact Lens Systems, combining a soft lens to protect the cornea with a rigid gas permeable lens to provide exceptional vision for patients with complex eye conditions.
2010: We proudly celebrated fitting our 20,000th patient. By this milestone, patients from 22 states and 8 foreign countries were traveling to our practice each year for their specialized contact lens care.
2015 - 2019: We reached another incredible milestone by fitting our 25,000th patient. Our patient family had grown to include individuals from 26 states and 10 foreign countries, many of whom continue to trust us with their vision care year after year.

Specialty Contact Lenses That Bring Hope And Treatment For Keratoconus...
One out of every 10,000 people in the United States have been diagnosed to have advanced Keratoconus: a condition where the human cornea protrudes and bulges outward in a cone-shape due to the pressure within the eye. In severe cases, there is no solution or cure since ordinary eyeglasses or Lasik surgery will not bring back the vision that was lost.
For over 40+ years, My laboratory and I have specialized in the treatment for our patients with this condition by using custom made lenses that are highly developed with multiple curvatures consisting of geometric designs that will fit perfectly over the scarred and distorted cornea.
In almost every case after the fitting of these specialty lenses, the results are miraculous! From patients who are legally blind and are frustrated with double and triple images every time they open their eyes, to 20/20 vision is not uncommon!
Many of our patients often travel great distances to come to our center and be fitted into these advanced lenses even after they were unsuccessful with their previous doctors and medical clinics. Often times, patients with Keratoconus cannot drive, and cannot continue to work in their professions that require basic eye sight!
Depression and a sense of hopelessness is very common. We feel fortunate that God has given us wonderful skills, and technologies... balanced with Godly patience and kindness in order to finally help bring back the clarity in vision that was lost.

Meet Bonnie Kastner and her husband Mike. Bonnie's last eye doctor tried to fit her 5 times without success when she first heard about my office over 15 years ago.
With over 10 Diopters of myopia, heavy astigmatism, sensitive eyes and now needing bifocals, Bonnie was hoping for a miracle.
The miracle came with a 5th generation "Air-Lens" design that I developed for people like Bonnie who had similar issues with their old style contact lenses.
The first day she put her new lenses in her eyes, God absolutely gave her that miracle! She had perfect 20/20 vision, both near and far with total comfort!
Bonnie now lives in Yuma Arizona, and is one of many hundreds of our out-of-state patients who find time during the summer months or during the holidays to visit us for their yearly exams and contact lens upgrades.
Thank you Bonnie, for the many years you have blessed us as both a patient and a friend. Here at the Lyon Contact Lens Center, we could never do the things we do without your love and support!
