The first photo captures the very first day on the job, as our crew began excavating for the foundation for Bent 4 for the westbound connector at the 241/91 interchange. This under-budget, ahead-of-schedule, award-winning landmark project was delivered as a joint venture, and we were proud to work alongside our partners to help bring this major transportation corridor to life.

The next photos capture key milestones from those early months:
• September 14, 1995: our joint venture partner placing concrete for the column at Bent 4 for the westbound connector at the 241/91 interchange.
• September 19, 1995: Placing concrete for the foundation at Bent 6L for the northwest connector at the 241/91 interchange.
• January 26, 1996: Placing concrete for the center foundation at Bent 2 for the North Portola Parkway Overcrossing.
• January 26, 1996: Substructure construction at the North Portola Parkway Overcrossing.

Building infrastructure in an established neighborhood takes more than technical expertise—it takes trust, communication, and respect for the community.

Our crews are making steady progress on the Avenues Septic to Sewer Conversion Packages 1 & 2 in Lake Elsinore, a major infrastructure project for the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) that will transition over 200 single-family properties from septic systems to a centralized sewer network. Work is well underway, with crews installing the sewer mainline, public and private laterals, decommissioning septic tanks, and completing site restoration, including concrete flatwork. We are currently wrapping up the eight-inch mainline installation in the Avenues before transitioning to Sedco Hills, while public lateral installation continues and private property work approaches the halfway mark.

What we're most proud of is how safely and efficiently our crews are executing this work, especially given the high level of public exposure. Performing high-quality construction while constantly interacting with the general public and private homeowners requires considerable care and professionalism. Our crews have embraced that responsibility, earning praise from both EVMWD and the community for their flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to accommodating community needs while minimizing impacts on homeowners.

🚧 Progress continues on the Lake Perris Emergency Release Facility Project in Perris, California.

The Sukut team recently completed the placement of approximately 220 cubic yards of concrete for the Evans Road Bridge abutment and pier walls, utilizing a 48-meter concrete pump from Conco Concrete Pumping and concrete supplied by Cemex.

This milestone marks another important step toward the project's completion, which is being delivered for the California Department of Water Resources to enhance flood protection and strengthen critical infrastructure downstream of Perris Dam. Once complete, the new levees, drainage channel, bridges, and roadway improvements will help protect nearby homes, businesses, Interstate 215, a local school, and a water treatment plant in the event of an emergency release from Lake Perris.
