I used get hurt when my mom showed me tough love. We'd battle between "you're too rough and you're too soft" and have a hard time seeing eye to eye on things.

Thank you for acknowledging my struggles with depression, identity, perception, and processes. Thank you for actively learning and adjusting to better suit my needs while still telling it like it is and being straight forward.

Thank you for realizing that I'm just a little weird, a little different, but no less of a good person with good intentions. You've grown so much emotionally and I've seen such a massive change in the way you approach situations and different personalities.

From your delivery of hard facts to your reasoning and understanding. I love you will all my heart but I gotta say, I love the you, that you have become today, even more than I love every other you that you've been.

Let's keep growing together, let's keep having meaningful worth having conversations, let's keep disecting the cosmos and continuing traditions.

You are the head of our family. You are a capable and spectacular matriarch for our family and I hope you know that although we may seem at times to be ungrateful, our struggles are with ourselves and not a reflection on the work you've done.

I'm proud of who I'm becoming and how my compassion has grown and my connection with the art and skill of practiced empathy.
