I've heard this repeatedly from countless people lately.
Therapy doesn't work. It's not helpful. At least not anymore.
We can bring effective therapy back.

Does anyone else get at least a dozen emails a week for janitorial services?!

If you ask me, therapy is about change. It's about changing who we while being able to put past versions of ourselves behind us. Being able to let go of what has kept us stuck and trapt. The whole thing is a process, let go, be patient.

Sleep. Sometimes in mental health we don't talk enough about sleep. It gets overlooked even though it's incredibly important. Getting quality sleep on a consistent basis can do wonders for your mental health and can help you see improvements in a number of areas including anxiety, worry, depression, motivation, mood and physical energy.

It wouldn't make much sense, for example, to seek a mood stabilizing medication or an SSRI without taking measures to improve your sleep.

I've improved my sleep at times with sleep aids but other things like sleep hygiene, mindfulness and a regular meditation practices have really helped me create long term solutions to insomnia. Many people can see improvements if they make some changes to their habits and stick with those changes.

I love quotes like this. It reminds me of how human we really are and how confusing and tricky life gets as well as how hard it is to struggle and suffer alone. I realize that many people find therapy to be a bland and almost sterile experience when it might be the most personal and vulnerable thing you ever do. I believe that the best therapy happens when it becomes an authentic human experience. People change and grow when they know someone is invested in their journey.
