“One of my favorite missions from the summer was pushing this ridge link-up that I’ve been staring at on a map for a while.

I’m sure someone out there has done it before however since I can’t find any trip reports on it, I’m calling this the Lost Man Upper Ridge Connection, or LURC, or Lost Man Loop the loooOoOooOoong way.

Venturing into the unknown is the real draw of these outdoor pursuits. Linking terrain that are all new to me, where the route isn’t obvious and I move with a mix of curiosity & hard-earned intuition, trusting the instincts built over years in the mountains.

“On 06/21/24 Andrew, Alec, Delaney and I hiked in Val de Funes and saw the St. Magdalena church then set off on the Adolf-Munkel trail where experienced yet another magical place. Rifugios among the blooming meadows set below the jagged peaks of the Dolomites. This may have been one of my favorite places on our whole trip ❤️” -
