Healing Focus Counseling
06/10/2026
When loss becomes overwhelming, our minds and bodies often protect us by creating distance from painful emotions. This numbness is not a sign that you’ve stopped loving, caring, or grieving. It is a natural protective response.
As healing begins, emotions may slowly start to return. A tear. A memory. A moment of laughter. A feeling you haven’t noticed in a while.
These small moments can feel uncomfortable, but they can also be signs that healing is taking place.
Remember: feeling worse doesn’t always mean you’re getting worse. Sometimes it means your heart is beginning to process what it has been carrying.
If you’re navigating grief, you don’t have to do it alone.
