We are happy to report that our orphaned kitten has found a forever home. One of the City of Sandy Springs communications members adopted our feline ward. Thank you to FAE Cappelmann for arranging the handoff.

Last night our crew was alerted by a passerby that a kitten was trapped in one of the storm drains near station 5. The crew jumped into action and entered the storm drain to locate the stranded feline. Engine 55s crew was able to rescue the waterlogged kitty and brought it back to the station to dry off and get some food. Station 5 now is searching for some kind soul to take this kitty in as their houses are all full! If you are interested in taking this cutie (not Lt. Wilkerson) home please reach out to us!
On Saturday night at approximately 12:30 SSFD received reports of a possible structure fire. The first arriving units were on scene in less than five minutes from dispatch and were able to quickly bring the fire under control. All residents had safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
