As for dating violence and sexual assault, this same study showed that approximately 50 percent of all adolescent girls and 15 percent of boys have been sexual assaulted, mostly by an acquaintance. Researchers also found that communicating this as a legal issue created more impact in preventing those from sexually harassing others than describing it as a social issue.
