Grateful for officers who understand what it means to serve their community. Officer Oedewaldt was caught in the act of helping a motorist who may have been a little optimistic about how far that tank of gas would take them. These everyday acts of kindness and service don’t always make headlines, but they make a difference.

Everyone says that patrol officers are the backbone of a police department—and they truly are. However, the real unsung heroes are our administrative assistants. They answer calls, direct staff, keep everything organized, and help the rest of the department look more put together than we really are. The department cannot function without them.
