Sentinels of Freedom

🇺🇸 82 years ago, the world changed on the shores of Normandy.
On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied troops took part in the largest amphibious invasion in history, facing extraordinary danger in defense of freedom and democracy.
Their bravery reminds us that the impact of service and sacrifice carries across generations.
At Sentinels of Freedom, we honor that legacy by supporting wounded and severely injured post-9/11 veterans as they rebuild their lives through education, mentorship, career development, and community support.
Today, we remember those who served on D-Day and all who have carried that spirit of service forward.
Their courage still leads the way.

The Sentinels of Freedom team recently visited the Veterans Resource Center at City College of San Francisco, where we had the opportunity to meet with Sentinel graduate and USMC Retired veteran Brian Vargas, Senior Manager of the center.
Serving approximately 1,000 student veterans each year, the center provides an important support system for veterans pursuing higher education and new career opportunities after military service.
Thank you to Brian Vargas and the entire Veterans Resource Center team for welcoming us and for the incredible work you do each day in support of student veterans.
Veterans Never Stop Serving.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
Their courage, dedication, and selflessness are the foundation of the freedoms we live with every day.
At Sentinels of Freedom, we carry their legacy forward by supporting the men and women who continue to serve and those transitioning home.
Today, we remember. We honor. We never forget.

Financial Coaching for Veteran Stability
Transitioning from military service to civilian life brings many new challenges. For veterans pursuing higher education, managing finances while building a new career path can be one of the most difficult.
Through the Sentinels of Freedom Bridge for Education program, scholars have access to financial coaching and planning designed to support long-term stability. Financial coaches help veterans develop practical budgeting skills, manage expenses while attending school, and create plans that support their future goals.
This guidance helps remove financial stress so scholars can stay focused on their education and career development.
At Sentinels of Freedom, our mission is not only to support veterans while they are in school, but to help them build strong, independent futures.
