SRPD WELCOMES NEW OFFICERS:

On Friday, May 29, 2026, SRPD had three new police officer recruits graduate from the Santa Rosa Public Safety Training Center Police Academy after 21 weeks of full-time education and training.

Today, June 3, 2026, these recruits became police officers. Officer Julia Rivera, Officer Jerred Delatorre, and Officer Eber Escobar were sworn in with family and friends at their side. San Rafael City Clerk Lindsay Lara administered the oath of office to our new officers. Officer Julia Rivera, Officer Jerred Delatorre, and Officer Eber Escobar will begin their intensive training program, which includes department and city orientation along with a field training program to develop the skills needed to work as solo patrol officers in the City of San Rafael.

We look forward to the service and dedication that each of these new officers will bring to the San Rafael Police Department and the San Rafael Community. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

SRPD HONORS MEMORIAL DAY:

Today, the San Rafael Police Department joins our community and nation in honoring Memorial Day.

We remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness protect the freedoms we hold dear, and their legacy will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and honor those who gave everything for our nation.

From all of us at the San Rafael Police Department, we wish our community a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

SRPD PARTICIPATES WITH FELLOW LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTNERS FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS TORCH RUN:

Yesterday, members of the San Rafael Police Department proudly participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics alongside our partners from the California Highway Patrol.

The Flame of Hope was handed off from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office to SRPD, and then proudly carried forward to our Central Marin Police Authority participants as part of this incredible tradition supporting Special Olympics athletes and inclusion throughout our communities.

A special thank you to SRPD Motors and Novato Police Department Motors for providing a safe es**rt along the route and helping make the event a success.

We are honored to support the Special Olympics movement and continue carrying the Flame of Hope forward! 🔥💙
