Organizers from MCIL's statewide program - the DO Network (Disability Organizing Network) - met in Sacramento this week to rally, educate, train, and strategize to create systems change in California over the next year. This network hub brings together the staff Systems Change Advocates from the 28 ILCs acros the state and their community members to work on organizing and advocacy campaigns to create "systems change" that increases access to community integration and inclusion for disabled persons and older adults.

We were joined by Rep. Jeff Gonzalez, father of an adult disabled child and disability advocate himself. He encouraged these advocates to keep telling their personal stories of lived experience to those who have the power to make decision and create change. His words "Data, tells, stories sell" is now the new chant of these advocates in this network. Check out the video below.
