We all know the rhyme “Leaves of three, let them be,” but do you know an easy way to tell the difference between poison oak and a blackberry bush?

👉 If it’s hairy, it’s a berry!

Fun facts like this are just the beginning of what you’ll learn as a Terwilliger Nature Guide with WildCare! We're currently recruiting volunteers to lead nature discovery walks for school children on weekdays. Go to https://discoverwildcare.org/nature-guide-volunteers/to learn more!

As a Nature Guide, you’ll receive specialized training in:
🍄 Local wildlife and plant ID
📚 Outdoor teaching methods
🌾 Redwood forest, grassland, and oak woodland ecology
🌿 Coast Miwok culture… and more!

Love being outdoors and sharing your passion for nature? This is your chance to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

How does being in nature make you feel?

There is something beautiful that happens when people slow down long enough to truly notice nature.

A bird building its nest, the way trees move in the wind, the tiny lives hidden beneath flowers and leaves.

When we learn to care for the natural world or even simply observe it with gentleness we often become softer with ourselves and each other too.

Love grows where attention is given, and sometimes protecting nature begins with simply learning to see it. 🌿

Visit discoverwildcare.org to see more about how you can observe wildlife and coexist with such wonders.
