Our Chair, Dr. Rodney Rohde PhD recently joined the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in discussing two important emerging infectious disease stories—the recent and outbreaks—and what they remind us about the vital role of diagnostic readiness, laboratory medicine, and science communication.
As we've learned time and again, outbreaks don't respect borders. Early detection, strong public health partnerships, and the expertise of medical laboratory professionals remain our best defense against emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
