Male Ruddy Ducks have a bright sky blue beak during breeding season. During the six months they are in breeding plumage, their showy beak and quirky behavior is popular with many guests and staff. Outside of breeding season, their beak becomes a greyish-black. Their breeding season is nearing an end so visit them on Pelican Pond and in Kennecott Wetlands Experience soon!
