I am Reedicus

Wrote another post on substack. It’s about the cyanotype art process and why I’ve been hiding mini prints around places I go.

and I have been internet buds since April 2021. This April we got to meet in person for the first time. It took 5 years, but I’m so glad it finally happened.
Kate is one of those people that brings joy to life. She does it in the way she approaches life and it oozes from her work.
If you’re at I encourage you to find Kate and say hello, buy some of her work and help bring joy to people in your life.
“Picture This” is a small that helped me process a season of life I never expected to walk through.
Photography has been a quiet hobby of mine for more than 25 years. One of the things I love most is how different people can look at the same scene and capture something entirely unique. A camera has helped me frame the world around me, documenting both the joyful moments and the harder ones.
In 2021, Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Much later in her journey, we began talking about doing an art series of sorts. Neither of us had ever worked on a series before. As I worked on the illustrations, I realized there was bigger story I wanted to hint at with this little zine. It became part art therapy as I processed her illness, her decline, and the quiet fear of a future where she might not be physically by my side.
Julie majored in photography in college, and her love of image-making and storytelling was woven into our lives for nearly 23 years. Creating this project felt like honoring that shared language of light, framing, and meaning.
Glad is doing this as it gave me the nudge to share here. I hope you find a creative spark that invites you to make something of your own. Follow it, let it grow. Let it enrich your life. Then share it with someone.Till next time.Be curious. Stay wild.

Shared some thoughts on sketching and bridging the gap between skill and ex*****on. Would love to know your thoughts on how you bridged the gap.
