I just finished writing The Cataclyst, a Parallel Universe Romance novel. I loved this one, and it came together fast. When a story hits right, I suppose it just hits right. Here's a sample for you!

"I’ve heard it said that the eyes are a ‘window to the soul.’ It’s something about them that communicates the non-verbal, like when someone’s worried but putting on a brave face. If you look hard enough, you can see through the façade.

I was too tired to engage a stranger in conversation. But the way those eyes were looking at me pierced me to the core and forced me to pay attention to them. I hadn’t often been the recipient of that particular expression; and to tell the truth, I couldn’t quite decipher what it meant.

It was as if the woman were looking at a ghost. And the longing on her face spoke of pain and anguish, the likes of which I had never seen on a stranger–particularly when I was the subject of interest."
