Every Four Years, The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance (LSWA) composes and releases a Four-Year Local Plan that outlines policies, procedures, and activities facilitated on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland as it pertains to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). We recently made updates to this plan.

Our 2024-2028 Local Plan has been re-uploaded and is published here:

We encourage those interested to read this plan to understand the goals an initiatives of LSWA in relationship to WIOA. Public comments are welcome over the next two weeks.

Today is National Forklift Safety Day! LSWA has funded 33 forklift and flagger training classes- helping nearly 300 members of our community gain skills to find jobs utilizing these in-demand certifications.

This role focuses on building and maintaining strong partnerships with area employers to support their talent acquisition and workforce development needs while providing support for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) initiatives.

We are hiring!

The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance is hiring a Grant Specialist to join our team of dedicated individuals. As a Grant Specialist, you will provide oversight of programmatic activities, budgets, and report for multiple federal, state, and private grants.
The grant specialist will work directly with the LSWA Director and coordinate with the Department of Finance to ensure all project tasks are on schedule, balance and allocate grant budgets, and prepare quarterly, annual and final reports to be submitted to funding agencies.
