The results are in, and we could not be more excited.
This year, APEX students showed more than 3x the average academic growth of a typical student in the United States across all academic subjects.
We always knew something special was happening here. We saw it in the confidence our students gained, the friendships they built, the leadership skills they developed, and the way they learned to take ownership of their lives and learning. But now, we also have the data to back up what we believed all along: our students are making remarkable academic progress too.
And the best part? They’re doing it while still having time to be kids, explore passions, build life skills, and actually enjoy learning again.
We are so proud of our students, our families, and our team.
If you have a 3rd–9th grader and want to learn more about APEX for next year, we would love to talk with you.
🎶 Make music, make friends, make memories! 🎶

Kids will sing together, explore instruments, make new friends, and shine in a final performance for families. 💛

Whether your child is brand new to music or already loves to perform, all skill levels are welcome!

📣 The results from APEX Year 1 are in - and we’re honestly blown away.
In one school year, our APEX students grew at 3.6× the national average. Not one subject. Not a few kids. Every subject. Every student.
Their median national percentile jumped from 43 to 78. 83% of students met or exceeded twice their projected growth.
This is what’s possible when a program is built around your child - their pace, their gaps, their goals - with a mentor who actually knows them. 💚
APEX enrolls students in grades 3-9 and spots for 2026-2027 are limited.
If you’ve been wondering whether your child could be doing better in school - this is your sign. 👇

We wrapped up our 8-week Spreckels Agriculture After School Program yesterday, and we are so proud of everything these students learned, explored, created, and presented throughout the program! 🌱🚜🐄
A huge thank you to OWL STEAM Academy for providing such engaging, hands-on instruction and helping bring agriculture, science, and sustainability to life for our students.
Over the past eight weeks, students explored topics including:
💧 Water conservation and agriculture by building water filters and learning why clean water matters for crops and farming
🌱 Soil health, nutrients, erosion, composting, worms, pollution, and how healthy soil supports healthy plants
🍎 Plant biodiversity through taste tests and investigations comparing different varieties of apples and carrots
🐝 Animal biodiversity and the important role animals play in ecosystems and agriculture
🚜 Farm machinery and technology used in modern agriculture
🥕 “From Garden to Table” lessons connecting farming to the food we eat every day
🧠 Review, reflection, and student presentations showcasing what they learned
🎤 Local agriculture guest speakers who shared real-world careers and opportunities in the ag industry
One of the best parts of the program was watching students ask thoughtful questions, collaborate together, conduct experiments, and confidently present their learning. Programs like this help students connect science, agriculture, sustainability, and their local community in meaningful ways.
We are grateful to our partners, instructors, families, and students for making this such a successful experience! 🌾
