Community Action: ARCHES Project

In response to forecasted freezing temperatures, MWVCAA is opening our Warming Centers on Thursday, Feb. 19, to provide a safe, warm place for individuals at risk across Marion and Polk counties.

MWVCAA Warming Centers will operate from 7PM to 7AM at the following locations:
• Salem: First Presbyterian Church, 770 Chemeketa St. NE – Adults 18+
• Dallas: St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1486 SW Levens St. – Families welcomed into shelter.
• Woodburn: ARCHES Woodburn Shelter, 1560 Hardcastle Ave. – Families welcomed for car parking* in parking lot.

Quick Facts:
• All centers are low barrier, welcoming guests with pets and their belongings
• Food and drinks will be provided

*Car camping: Adult warming inside and family friendly parking in the lot - families experiencing homelessness have access to a safe, approved place to park overnight. Families sleep in their vehicles and may access indoor amenities, including restrooms and refreshments, while onsite.

Warming Centers operated by partner organizations include:
• Salem: Seed of Faith Ministries, 1248 Winter St. NE, 6PM-7AM, Feb. 19-20

VOLUNTEER NEED: We had a volunteer call out for 4:30am to 8:30am and need one person to fill this spot. If you can help that would be great!!!

The Warming Centers will operate from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. at the following locations:
• Salem: First Presbyterian Church, 770 Chemeketa St. NE – Adults 18+
• Dallas: Dallas Church, 450 SE Washington St. – Families welcomed into shelter.
• Woodburn: ARCHES Woodburn Shelter, 1560 Hardcastle Ave. – Families welcomed for car parking* in parking lot.

The Warming Centers will operate from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. at the following locations:
• Salem: ARCHES Day Center, 615 Commercial St. NE – Adult only, car camping* available for families with minors.
• Dallas: St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1486 SW Levens St. – Families with minors welcome
• Woodburn: ARCHES Woodburn Shelter, 1560 Hardcastle Ave. – Adult only, car camping available for families with minors.

There will be no Day Center services (including mail services) on Tuesday, November 11th for Veterans Day. Regular services will resume on Wednesday, November 12th.
