Longview paper mill implosion

A major chemical implosion at a Longview pulp mill killed at least one person and injured at least nine. Nine employees were missing as of Tuesday night.

East Lincoln County Fire and Rescue is keeping the affected community in our thoughts and prayers as they navigate this tragedy.

We are praying for the continued safety and protection of all emergency responders and personnel assisting all those affected.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: We are still working on completing the spaces in our expanded mezzanine (now second floor). The framing has been completed for all of the spaces including our future wildland firefighting gallery and classroom/boardroom. Rough-in electrical is complete, drywall was hung, and the drywall finishing is in process heading towards a goal of completion by June 30. This project was funded in part by grants from Braemar and Autzen foundations and Oregon State Parks and Recreation.

While the vehicles may have changed over the years, the mission has not. AMR remains committed to serving the community when it matters most.
