Friendship Brigade

The Friendship Brigade program’s Canine Corps is looking for more volunteers. Our mission is to help minimize feelings of loneliness and isolation among Salem’s seniors. A bonus is that you get to meet new people, do something fun with your dog, and you can talk a lot about your dog, and nobody minds! A dog’s temperament, training, and handler attentiveness are key factors here. Dogs must love people, be calm and be comfortable in new settings. What a wonderful group of volunteers who joined our bus tour to visit partner facilities! We went caroling, provided smiles, cheer, gifts and handmade cards. We were out Monday and Tuesday, yet still have two more days of spreading holiday cheer! Thank you everyone!
