The Blackwood Family Has Arrived!

We are excited to welcome our new pastoral family to St. Simons Island! David, Jessica, Samuel, Emma, and Sophia Blackwood have officially moved into the parsonage and are beginning to settle into their new home. We are grateful to have them as part of the St. Simons UMC family and look forward to the ministry God will share through them among us.

As the Blackwoods unpack and get settled, we invite you to welcome them with your prayers, encouragement, and hospitality. If you would like to stop by to say hello or bring a meal, you are welcome to do so. We also ask for your understanding as their family adjusts to a new home and new community.

David’s first day in the church office will be Monday, June 29, and he will be in the office from 8:30-4:00. He will be spending some time later in the week doing home visits. Over the next few weeks he will set a regular office schedule to allow “drop-in” visits but please do not hesitate to reach out and schedule a time to meet with David.

David’s first Sunday preaching will be July 5. We will have one worship service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship after worship. We hope you will join us as we welcome the Blackwood family and begin this new season together in ministry.
