We are writing to update you on the current situation affecting your cargo scheduled for shipment from Brazil to the United States.
On August 28, 2025, the Brazilian Postal Service (Correios) announced the suspension of all shipments of goods to the US and Puerto Rico, following new US import rules. This measure comes on top of a logistics environment already under extreme pressure.
What is happening now?
New tariffs introduced by the US triggered a surge in demand. Many businesses and customers, fearing price increases, overbought overseas and shipped massive volumes of goods to our facilities.
This created overbooked cargo space and significant backlogs even before the Correios suspension.
With the diplomatic and trade relationship between Brazil and the US deteriorating, and Correios halting shipments, all their parcels are now being redirected to carriers like DHL, UPS, and FedEx, overwhelming alternative networks.
On top of that, several countries are now refusing to ship goods directly to the US, creating additional bottlenecks.
How this impacts your cargo?
Shipments waiting in Brazil for export to the US cannot move via Correios.
We are required to recalculate freight costs and re-route shipments through alternative carriers and countries.
Due to capacity overload and restrictions, we cannot guarantee standard processing or delivery times.
Our team is releasing backlogged orders weekly, but the avalanche of tasks has exceeded our operational structure.
Our action plan:
Re-routing: Securing compliant alternative routes and carriers whenever possible.
Re-pricing: We are doing our best to minimize additional costs. In many cases, we have taken profit off the table to shield our customers from price shocks. Our focus is on ensuring delivery, not maximizing margins. At 4repack, our motto has always been clients first.
Customer coordination: Contacting each client individually with options to prioritize critical shipments.
What to expect?
While we are doing everything possible to keep your cargo moving, uncertainty in processing times and delivery dates is unavoidable under the current conditions. We remain committed to transparency, weekly updates, and finding the best available solutions for your business.
We thank you for your understanding and trust during this unprecedented disruption. For urgent cases, please reach out directly at https://www.4repack.com/contato

For importers, this raises an immediate concern: how to manage rising costs, avoid shipping delays, and maintain competitive pricing in the U.S. market.
