This month’s spotlight features an Innovize team member whose work sits at the heart of how we bring complex ideas to life. As an Automation Engineer II, Minh Doan’s path at Innovize spans nearly seven years, and his perspective highlights the collaboration, flexibility, and continuous learning that define our culture.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
I believe this role requires a strong foundation in mechanics and/or electronics. We are typically given broad requests to either optimize an existing process or develop new ones. Due to these factors, we need to be responsive to new ideas and be creative.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗯?
The best part of this job is the creativity and teamwork aspect. Being on a team with people of different backgrounds and skill sets, we often get together and brainstorm new ideas. Recently, we've become more efficient at rapid prototyping so many of our ideas come to life and we get to see whether or not it works.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿?
The flexibility Innovize has given me in the past and currently has been extremely helpful. While going to school full-time, I was allowed to continue working on the weekends and pick up hours whenever I could.

Last night, Innovize attended the VHEDC Annual Dinner. This event brings together local businesses that care deeply about strengthening the Vadnais Heights and northeast metro community. The VHEDC’s ongoing work to create opportunities, retain talent, and support a strong local business environment reflects their respect for the people and organizations who call this area home.

This year, Innovize received the 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. This acknowledgment reinforces our belief that workplaces thrive when every person feels respected, supported, and able to contribute fully.

November is 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵. This month reminds us how critical reliable devices are for people managing diabetes every day.

At Innovize, our work supports companies that design and produce the tools diabetes patients rely on. From flexible materials to wearable device components, our teams help bring new ideas to life so innovators can improve care.

Thank you to the engineers, scientists, caregivers, and advocates advancing diabetes research and device development. Your work drives progress that impacts people around the world.

Today, we honor and thank all who have served our country in the armed forces.

Your courage, dedication, and sacrifice protect the freedoms that allow innovation and progress to thrive.

To wrap up Breast Cancer Awareness month, we have one more story to share from one of our associates, Krystal Dunn.

“My mom, Charlene Mento, began her breast cancer journey on June 20, 2019, when she found a lump on the left side of her breast. Her doctor thought it might be a cyst, and both an ultrasound and mammogram came back negative. Still, the lump continued to grow. When it was surgically removed in November, the results revealed it was cancer.

She started chemotherapy in January 2020 and received the incredible news that she was cancer-free by June. To help prevent recurrence, she completed radiation therapy that summer.

Unfortunately, in December 2020, the cancer returned. She underwent a double mastectomy in March 2021 and began another round of oral chemotherapy. Since December 2021, all her scans and tests have been clear—she’s been cancer-free.”
