Early Voting Starts This Weekend!

We've seen a dramatic increase in disinformation about our elections from our federal government designed to undermine our democracy. But we know that politicians don't run our elections. Our elections belong to the people.

You can begin casting your ballot in person starting this weekend for the Tuesday, August 4, primary.

Saturday, July 25 – Saturday, August 2: Statewide in-person early voting period.
Monday, August 3, 4 p.m.: Deadline to vote in person, with an absentee ballot, at your city or township clerk's office if you're registered to vote where you live.
Tuesday, August 4: Election Day! Polls are open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. local time. If you need to register to vote, you can register and then vote at your city or township clerk's office until 8 p.m.
As we approach Election Day, we extend an extra big thank you to the local clerks and election workers across Michigan who work hard to make sure every eligible voter can cast a ballot – and every vote is counted.

To see our clerks in action and just how secure our elections are, we urge you to serve as a poll worker in the upcoming elections.

Remember – elections belong to the people!

Early in-person voting The Michigan Department of State / Secretary of State will never ask people to send money or personal information via text message, email or QR code. Please contact the Michigan Department of Attorney General for more information on how to identify scams and to file a complaint.

USPS has confirmed it will comply with a federal court order blocking a proposed rule tied to Trump’s executive order on mail voting. The proposed rule would have required states to provide USPS with a list of preapproved voters before mail ballots could be delivered. Federal courts in both Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., have blocked the rule from taking effect, and Postmaster General David Steiner has now confirmed that USPS will follow those court orders.

Know a like-minded person who believes in getting out the vote? Opportunities to join the non-partisan group Democracy First in Van Buren and Calhoun Counties with PAID positions are available to assist in information campaigns before the November elections.

FYI: If you already sent your mail in ballot in and would like to change your vote based on Mallory dropping out, you can do so. Just go to your county clerks office and ask to retrieve your vote, 'spoil it', and complete a new one.
Michigan voters have time to request a new mail-in (absentee) ballot if they voted for a candidate who has dropped out.
The official process, called “spoiling” a ballot, allows your local clerk to mark your original ballot invalid and issue a new one if your request is made before the deadlines and your ballot has not already been counted. This can be done in person, or by submitting a written and signed request to your clerk, stating you need a new mail-in (absentee) ballot and if you’d like it mailed or will pick it up.
