The Teen Advisory Board (affectionally known as TAB) is a great opportunity for local teens to learn some life skills, get volunteer hours, make some friends, and give back to the library with their insights and inputs on teen programming.

The St. Joseph Public Library is excited to welcome Dr. Karen Kissinger as she presents on her experiences as an Ioway living in the city, discusses the Ioways, addresses cultural appropriation versus appreciation, and provides a safe space to explore culturally offensive terminology. In addition, she will outline the economic development enterprises of her tribe, with a thumbnail sketch of the past, present, and future.

Dr. Kissinger is a certified Life and Leadership Coach, award winning educator, and former green business owner. As a professional educator Kissinger worked for more than twenty years in secondary education and now continues to teach and coach in the areas of personal growth and leadership.
