Clutter Free Me

The best way to keep your home clutter free is to maintain a cleaning schedule that works best with your schedule. When we have a designated time to do something, it usually gets done, rather than just "knowing" you need to clean!! For example;
MONDAY- living room, main bathroom
TUESDAY- master bedroom, master bathroom
WEDNESDAY- kitchen
THURSDAY- kid bedrooms

Now- this is my schedule and works for me to do a little each day, but when I know I have a busy week ahead of me, I choose to do all of this in one day. Keep in mind that these rooms are clutter free, they just need the usual dusting and floor care, also cobwebs or what ever else grabs my eye. This is for maintenance!

So I realized something, instead of stressing with the kids to keep the house clean all day, let them enjoy themselves until evening time. Then, just before bedtime, do a family "5 minute clean up". Race to clean everything that has been played with during the day. It will eliminate your stress and get the job done so you can go to bed with the clean house you woke up to!! Keep in mind that this only works if your space is CLUTTER FREE!!

It's been a while and boy have I been busy! Then I thought, while my place is getting "CLUTTER FREE", I need to be encouraging others to do the same!! Once a month take ONE room of your home and DEEP clean it! This means in addition to the weekly dusting and mopping/vacuuming, clean the walls, ceilings, corners, and CLUTTER! When trying to deep clean your house, don't be discouraged! Take one room at a time, unless it is a bathroom or kid's room, then two in a day! Stay focused and motivated and remember... purge, purge, purge!!
