Discovered an open wire splice literally hanging by a string in an attic during a recent inspection.

The potential threat this poses to the home is vast simply because open wire splices have the potential to cause fires within the home by over-heating or sparking over time. Open wire splices can be dangerous and should be tended to as early as possible when noticed!

When it comes to mold it's important to know that most mold grows in warm and moist areas. One of the quickest ways to eliminate mold is to ventilate the affected area!

By allowing consistent air flow through the affected area, it cuts off any sources of moisture that contribute to the mold growth itself and this will significantly help to reverse the expansion of it. Typically opening up a window near the moldy area or turning on a fan will get the ball rolling.

Furthermore, utilizing an air purifier with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter will help to eliminate the mold spores in the air. Air purifiers like these helps to improve the indoor air quality within your home.
