Saco Main Street

This survey is being conducted as part of the Safe Streets for All demonstration project, which is a collaboration between the Greater Portland Council of Governments and the cities of Portland, S**o and Scarborough. Each city will install temporary road safety improvements in one key area to test functionality and gather public feedback before permanent changes are considered. The key areas are:

Portland: Commercial St from Dana St to Franklin St.
S**o: Main St from Water St to Cutts Ave
Scarborough: Rte 1 from Hannaford Dr to Little Dolphin Dr

These projects may include temporary traffic calming measures, pedestrian safety improvements, and roadway design adjustments meant to improve safety and accessibility for all users. We're gathering community sentiment about the existing conditions before the installations are put in place, so please take this survey *before it closes on June 19!*

Our first artist for the Music on Main series! Thomas Clukey is based out of S**o, ME. Growing up in St. Albans, he pulls his inspriation from the country music he heard playing on the radio in his youth. He finds his peace in the great Maine outdoors. Come see him this Saturday, June 13th, 12-2 pm at Swell patio! This is a FREE event!

⭐️Music on Main was created to enhance the downtown experience during one of our busiest times of the week. The goal isn't necessarily to draw people downtown specifically for a concert—it's to add live music and energy for the people already shopping, dining, and exploring downtown S**o on a Saturday afternoon.

If you haven't spent a Saturday in downtown S**o lately, it's worth checking out. Our businesses are open, and Music on Main helps create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages people to stay a little longer, visit another business, and enjoy everything downtown has to offer.

Congratulations to Thornton Academy's Christopher Guillemette ‘27 for being selected for our Arts Festival Poster! Students in Lori Smith's design class were given creative liberty to design our 55th Annual Arts Festival poster, with the bottom branding designed by S**o Main Street. Thank you to all of the students who worked on this, they were all amazing and really hard to choose from.
