Hail naw! Watch out for so-called roofers with these guys and pick up trucks with ladders! Everyone wants to replace a roof at the end of a storm and unfortunately roof contractors do not have to be licensed.
Arm yourself with information when someone knocks on your door, claiming to do a complementary roof inspection!
Asked for a list of previous jobs done just like a person going to interview for a job. They’re going to have a résumé to present or ask that so-called roofer for a résumé of the previous jobs. He or she has completed.
Do Not, I repeat Do Not sign a waiver to give away your benefits! Let the insurance company pay you directly and do not allow the roofer to communicate with the insurance company. That is the best practice. You should be the middle person in all transactions, dealing with the insurance company and the roof contractor.

Repairs after a storm! Most areas in the US are going through or have experienced some severe weather! A few things you should know when it comes to repairing your home!
1. Most carriers will allow you to mitigate to prevent from further damage. Documentation is important! This is not the time for upgrades because most carriers will only pay for restoration of your home prior to the storm event! Code upgrades and endorsements may be applicable in these situations. Check your policy for details! To mitigate your loss, take photos of damaged equipment BEFORE you discard or repair! If you DYI, keep receipts of materials related to the damaged portions of your home.
2. File a claim before you repair and let the company appointed adjuster inspect for damages. This will avoid delays and possible denials in coverage.
3. Remember, if you don’t have photos or receipts, you claim will be harder to support when speaking to an Adjuster.
