Introducing our new chef, Markie Garwood.
Born and raised in Tularosa, NM, Chef Markie developed his passion for food through a childhood spent hunting, fishing, and exploring the forests and landscapes of the Southwest. Those experiences continue to inspire his culinary approach: taking the rustic flavors and ingredients familiar to our region and transforming them into something elevated and memorable.
With a playful spirit and a passion for creativity, Chef Markie draws inspiration from music, nature, and the joy of bringing people together through food. At The Ranchers in Ruidoso, he is committed to creating exceptional dining experiences while introducing fresh ideas, seasonal features, and chef-driven dishes. This is just the beginning, with much more creativity and flavor still to come.
