Friends again??

My calendar was off because it has been about 5 weeks, not 3 weeks, since Snoopy ran out the door and was outside for 3 days. Snoopy and Shelby were inseparable until the incident. Ever since he came back inside, she has spit, hissed or chased him away and been quite adamant about it.

Homegrown strawberries are the best!!
I picked exactly TWO strawberries on the same day one year ago. Since then, the hauls have been better, and there was enough to make 3 decent sized strawberry shortcake desserts. As soon as the sun hits my pots this afternoon and causes the natural sugars to rise in the berries, I will fight off the birds who also wait for the sugar to rise before they pick too. Happy 16th birthday to Ghost - Harvest Host and Airbnb guests met at the arena to wish Ghost a Happy Birthday. Ghost was fed small slices of apple but he had to work for every piece, shaking hands with everyone. Ghost has had a lot of accomplishments in his life, from Honorary GS at 6 weeks, finalist for America’s Favorite Pet, Purina Horse, Feed Greatness, June Horse of the Month, Certified Horsemanship Association Lesson Horse of the Year finalist. Ghost was the first miniature horse ever nominated as lesson horse of the year, and International Horse Agility Club champion. Now he visits nursing homes and enjoys life. Happy Birthday, buddy. Ghost’s Sweet 16 Birthday - 6/10/2010

Our very first rescue horse, from our very first animal control seizure, turned 16. We even had a small party for him, attended by Harvest Host and Airbnb guests. Ghost shook hands for small apple slices. They were a bigger hit than the carrot cake I bought him for his 10th birthday. Ghost has had a very interesting career in his short life, from Honorary Girl Scout when he was 6 weeks old, semi-finalist in America’s Favorite Pet competition, headliner at the Puyallup Fair 2 years in a row, the Purina Feed Greatness June horse of the month, as well as horse agility liberty champion. Ghost is well loved!! Of course he showed his appreciation by rolling in the arena after I took the time to brush and dress him up for his party.
