At the recent SPFPA International Convention, our theme was clear: Carry the Legacy. Those words are more than a slogan — they are a challenge and a responsibility for every current and future leader of this great union.

The SPFPA stands strong today because of the dedication, sacrifice, and vision of the leaders who came before us. They built this union through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the rights and futures of our members. Their efforts laid the foundation that we now stand on.

As leaders of today, and as the leaders of tomorrow rise, it is our duty to honor that legacy — not just by remembering it, but by building upon it. We must continue to fight, organize, protect, and grow with the same courage and determination that brought us here.

The path forward is ours to shape, but we must never forget the shoulders we stand on. Respect the past. Lead in the present. Build for the future.
