We serviced 2 Mix Telematics / Powerfleet GPS devices yesterday for Anytime Plumbing. The devices weren't working for a while and we're tampered with by the drivers and also a local shop (we won't name or embarass, but supposedly install vehicle electronics) that thought they could service the devices.
We installed new power harnesses, reinstalled devices and corrected wiring problems after a unqualified and poorly trained shop tried to fix one of the devices. We found our original wiring harnesses hacked up, wired to an unknown source and the 12V constant and ignition leads switched backwards.
We corrected all issues and the devices were back online working. We are challenged everyday and reminded not everyone is qualified to work on vehicles. When in doubt leave work to a trained, factory certified technician and the only certified company in MI for MixTelematics.
