• Keep pets indoors and prep outdoor animals if needed.🚀🐶
• Hydrate! It's going to be a hot one.💦
• Have an adult watching at all times when swimming, and don't horseplay in the water.🏊‍♀️🛥️

The Rome‑Floyd Fire Department wants everyone to enjoy the holiday safely! The SAFEST way to view fireworks is to go to a public display.... but if you must shoot off fireworks, here are a few quick tips to keep celebrations fun and fire‑free:

• Buy only legal, licensed fireworks.
• Always have an adult in charge, even with sparklers.
• Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby for emergencies.
• Light one firework at a time and never relight a dud.
• Maintain a safe distance once fireworks are lit.
• Never point fireworks at people, pets, or buildings.
• Soak used fireworks in water before throwing them away.
