Last week one of our scholarship recipients, Will Ayres, and his mom Chandra, visited so Will could provide an update on his freshman year of college at Jacksonville State University. He has been involved in music, tried all kinds of new educational experiences and excelled in academics. We are proud of how Will is using his Rome Rotary scholarship! We were thrilled to be visited by Rotary District 6910 Public Image Chair Amanda Groover who presented Doug Walker with the first Ann Ragle-Haynes Award for outstanding public image to be given to a club president. Leanne Hand Cook, the public image chair for Rome Rotary, and Tom Mayer, editor of the Rome News Tribune, were also honored due to their contributions to Doug's award. New members Dr. Raul Gonzalez, recently retired from Harbin Clinic after 40 years of service, and Jameie Stone, a leader in the Rome-Floyd Fire Department for 23 years and current Division Chief, were inducted. We also heard from the Children's Museum of Rome's leadership about their wonderful new exhibits as they get closer to their opening date - adding a rich learning and fun environment to the Mt. Berry Square Mall. Rotary International Children’s Museum of Rome Rotary International
