Merciful Savior

We live 70 or 80 years, then die We live 70 or 80 years but our days are filled with sorrow and we soon are carried away in death to stand before our Maker.

All our sins exposed before God Moses reminds us that all our sins, even those secret ones, are seen by the LORD God and bring about His just anger and punishment. As a result, our lives are brief and pass away as a tale that is told.

'Fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge' A reverence and honor for the LORD God who created the heavens and earth and sent His Son into the world to redeem us is the beginning of true knowledge but many despise and neglect the wisdom and instruction which God gives in the Bible.

Our lives are swept away as in a flood Because of our sin, our lives are swept away as in a flood.

God turns us back to dust We sometimes forget that physical death is part of the curse brought about by our sinfulness.

The Lord is from everlasting to everlasting Though our lives in this world are brief, the LORD God is from everlasting to everlasting.

'Whoever hates his brother is in darkness' One who acknowledges his sins and looks in faith to Jesus Christ for pardon and forgiveness will also, as a fruit of faith, love his brother. In fact, one cannot be a Christian and continue to hate his brother.

Has the love of God reached its goal in you? If we truly know the love of God for us in Christ Jesus, it will move us to keep the words and teaching of the Lord Jesus.

'By this we know that we know Him' One who claims to know Jesus Christ and trust in Him but disregards His commandments is a liar and not a true believer.
