Repaired four Watts Water Technologies 957 backflows at an apartment complex. All had rusted pieces stuck in the bottom of the #1 check valve. The last one ripped on the sleeve o-ring while reassembling. They are simple to repair but this design is not cost effective for the end user. Even with wye strainers, the rust comes from build up around the test ports internally. I would recommend if it's use the 009 model or use if possible. Test Gauge & Backflow Supply has them all.
