Chilled Rosé
Sometimes the best subjects just show up and cooperate. I spent yesterday morning at the Bent Oaks Rookery in Rockport, Texas, where a number of Roseate Spoonbills were moseying about the treetops — most preferring the shelter of the canopy. This one, however, decided to chill near the observation area in the early morning light and let me do my thing. That iconic spatula bill, those vivid pinks lit up by the golden hour — hard to ask for more. Captured 4/11/26.
