While the rest of us were drowning in tax returns, extension requests, missing W-2s, forgotten 1099s, and clients who swore they uploaded their documents (they didn’t 😅), Melany was holding TaxSpace together with sheer determination, patience, and approximately 47 browser tabs.

😇 Keeping Jessica from completely losing her mind.

There were days when Melany was basically an air traffic controller for tax returns, directing hundreds of clients through the chaos of tax season.

We’re still not entirely sure if she’s human or just a highly advanced client-care robot powered by cafecito and positive vibes.

We’re excited to share that TaxSpace has been selected as a recipient of the City of Philadelphia’s Catalyst Fund Grant, administered by the Pennsylvania CDFI Network.

This investment will support the continued growth of TaxSpace through upgraded technology, operational systems, staff training, and expanded infrastructure designed to better serve entrepreneurs, individuals, and small businesses across Philadelphia.

As a Latina-owned business rooted in community impact, this milestone represents more than growth, it represents the importance of accessible financial support, education, and sustainable business development for underserved communities.

The grant will help us continue building systems that improve client experience, increase capacity, strengthen financial operations, and expand the educational and advisory services we provide year-round.

Congrats to the top 5 of the 250 Women’s Committee pitch competition. The winner was glitter. A membership based business where neighbors pay a small fee to hire to come get their blocks clean. It’s a great way to come together as a neighborhood and keep Philadelphia beautiful. Congrats to all!!
