When I first saw an image of The Dragons I was hooked to Astrophotography! I wanted to shoot this object so bad however it's in the Southern Hemisphere. One day maybe I can take my rig down south and enjoy the Dragons in person. Since I can't have the Dragons today I gladly tip my hat off to DeepSkyWest which is based in New Mexico and Chile where this image was shot. Since I too am from New Mexico I figure why not take some amazing free data and apply my own spin on it? Please do enjoy!

Deep Sky West Remote Observatory - New Mexico
This is a wide-field 24.7h image of M16, the Eagle Nebula, using LRGBSHO data from Deep Sky West, Rowe, NM collected between 24 April and 10 July, 2020.
The Eagle Nebula is part of a diffuse emission nebula, or H II region, with the bright region of active current star formation at about 5700 light-years distance. The cluster associated with the nebula, NGC6611, has approximately 8100 stars. The cluster's age has been estimated to be 1–2 million years. [based on Wikipedia]
Processing: PixInsight 1.8.8-9, PS CS6 and starnet.
