June 26, 2025, has been selected as the World Refrigeration Day (WRD), the theme of which is “Cool Skills.” The contributions of engineers around the world personally affect each and every one of us, making our lives better in every conceivable way. This is why, World Refrigeration Day (WRD) has been set aside to recognize the birth date of William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin on June 26, 1824, also recognized as Lord Kelvin in refrigeration world. The World Refrigeration Day (WRD) is an international day established to raise awareness about the importance of refrigeration technologies in day-to-day life. June 23rd, 2025, has been selected as the International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), the theme of which is “Together We Engineer.” The vital contributions of women engineers around the world personally affect each and every one of us, enhancing our lives better in every conceivable way. This is why, International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) launched on June 23rd, 2014, in UK as a national campaign by Women’s Engineering Society (WES), has seen tremendous growth - gaining UNESCO patronage in 2016 and achieving global recognition in subsequent year.
