Did you know there is a hidden gem in Kalamazoo County that specializes in Vocational Rehabilitation for individuals who are blind or visually impaired? Meet the Bureau of Services for Blind Persons Training Center (BSBPTC).
BSBPTC is on a mission to provide opportunities to individuals who are blind or visually impaired, even during a global pandemic. BSBPTC services include assisting individuals to gain meaningful employment that fits their skills and training, as well as achieving maximum and meaningful independence in life through comprehensive rehabilitative services.
The BSBPTC will not let a pandemic waiver that! Due to the current State of Michigan guideline restrictions, BSBPTC is unable to provide the typical in-person training at the year-round residential facility. BSBPTC is currently delivering virtual training which includes:
• Workplace Readiness Training
• Independent Living Skills
• Assistive Technology and Computers Training
• Post-Secondary Readiness Training
• Pre-ETS Individual Courses
If you, or someone you know, would like to know more about the BSBPTC facility, services provided, or information on how to be referred for services please call us at (269) 337-3848.
