June 6th is National Trails Day! What better way to celebrate than taking a hike on one of the unique trails in Wayne County, located just 30-60 minutes east of Rochester, NY. Visit Wayne County NY

The hiking trails in Wayne County feature an incredible variety of landscapes, history, and hidden gems. There are floating bogs, wetlands, and glacier-formed bluffs to Erie Canal history, wildflower meadows, and sweeping views of Lake Ontario. Along the trails, hikers can discover unique art installations, accessible nature paths, historic structures, butterfly gardens, towering old-growth trees, and scenic boardwalks through rare habitats. Many of the parks also highlight the region’s rich natural and industrial history, including former canal aqueducts, railroad cuts, orchards, and a former campground.
