BROTH on Main

How do we properly begin this announcement? After 5 years, we have sadly decided to close down Broth on Main.

Although the days may have sometimes felt long, the years somehow still felt short. Our regulars made us feel as if we’ve been up and running for decades, and at the same time it felt like we were just gettin’ into the swing of things! Broth was something that my husband and I took on during a new part of our lives, and wow - did we really take a leap of faith. We learned so much during our time here, cooking side by side, running out orders while clutching the phone for a take out, and laughing when the rush was finally done.

Lucky enough to have had Mercantile neighbors turn into friends. Grateful to have had first time customers that turned into regulars who knew us by our names. Thankful to have had regulars who would come by for their usual and ask about our children.

Devastated to let go of “something” that we worked so hard for. Although Broth on Main is “just” a restaurant, it has represented so much more than that to us. As the years went on, it felt as if regardless of how hard we worked, our environment being downtown didn’t allow us to thrive. This seems to be a common pattern we are seeing with other local businesses in the heart of Rochester at the moment.

Should we ever consider reviving Broth on Main the future? We are slightly uncertain! But in the meantime, you can come find us at Roc Pho Shop ()… we will both be there still cooking side by side, still running out orders, still laughing when the rush is done.
