Remember, fireworks are illegal in the city limits!

06/25/2026

Check out this helpful reminder from the City of Robinson about pet safety during the Independence Day holiday.

Fireworks are not allowed within the city limits of Robinson. But, if you live on the outskirts of town or plan on traveling somewhere fireworks are permitted, make sure your pets are somewhere they feel safe.

According to PetAmberAlert, animal control agencies nationwide report a 30% to 60% increase in lost pets between July 4th and July 6th.

- Keep your critters inside when fireworks might go off.
- Microchips should be updated (For more information on where to get low cost microchips, visit http://bit.ly/CORMicrochip)
- Ensure your dog (or cat) has a collar with ID tags.
- Create a cozy and quiet place away from windows for them to get away from the noise. A large closet with their bed or their crate with comfy blankets might make them feel safest.
- Leave on music or the TV to help drown out the noise.
- Comfort them by petting them with long, slow strokes and speaking in a calming voice.
- Be sure to walk Spot before the firework show starts.

We have received reports of solicitors going door to door wearing reflective vests indicating they are with Oncor. We have also noticed several posts from our residents about this. The solicitors are reportedly asking to see electric meters and utility bills. Oncor advised this is not their employees soliciting. If you encounter these solicitors, please contact us immediately at 254-662-0525 so our officers can respond.
