This place is SO Roanoke!

We made it out to the ’s final Christmas Pop-Up and I’m so glad we did! Typically reserved for private events, on occasion the Train Station opens their doors to the public with these exclusive Pop-ups.

This place fully embodies what makes Roanoke, Roanoke! It’s a historic railway station, originally the Virginian Railway Passenger Station built around 1909, that’s been restored and repurposed as an event venue.

The character of this venue is a major part of the appeal:

🎟️ The old ticket counter becomes a bar

🚊 Trains still roll by right outside

🌟 Perfect views of the iconic Roanoke Star

🥃 A vintage Airstream turned whiskey lounge and bar

🍸 A cozy speakeasy-style bar tucked into the venue

🎸 A musician-style artifact lounge decked with collectible guitars, vintage marshals, concert posters from the 60’s - so cool 😎

Such an underrated spot that gives events a genuine Roanoke-specific flavor!

AND, If you’re still deciding on New Year’s Eve plans… this might be your sign. The is hosting an exclusive party to ring in 2026. Celebrations start at 8pm, tickets are $40, and the setting does most of the talking!

Patty and I have been loving the floral workshops by , and this last one might be my favorite yet - hosted .boutique (with some of the most fab clothing ever). We made Christmas centerpieces, and the bold red with that single white bloom? Chef’s kiss.

Then, just because, that same neighbor surprised us with the cutest Christmas cupcakes from . No occasion. No agenda. Just sweet thoughtfulness.

Moral of the story: get to know your neighbors. Go do things. Support local. This is how real community is built.
