My team is currently helping a young couple, both are 22 years old, who were "sold" into "investing" $30,000 into a life insurance product commonly sold as an investment. They gave that money to the insurance company last November. If they want to cancel that policy, they would only get $7,000 back, unless they keep the policy active for 10-15 years, when they MIGHT be able to get back more of their original investment.
This is SO WRONG! So many people are being taken advantage of with these kinds of policies. My broker and mentor, Ernie Esqueda, was sold one of these years ago, and is passionate that our team gets out and helps people with these, and helps educate people about how these policies really work, despite how amazing they sound when they are sold.
